Mozilla war immer stolz darauf, einen ganz besonderen Standard zu haben. Nun wurde bekannt das der Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich eine Gesetzgebung gegen Ehen von Homosexuellen finanziell unterstützt zu hat. Die passt nicht zu Mozilla, es entstand Aufruhr nicht nur bei seinen Angestellten, sondern auch im Netz. Obwohl der Vorstand ihn nicht offiziell dazu gezwungen hat, nahm er jetzt seinen Abschied. Auf dem Blog von Mozilla war man begeistert.
“Mozilla believes both in equality and freedom of speech. Equality is necessary for meaningful speech. And you need free speech to fight for equality. Figuring out how to stand for both at the same time can be hard.”
